Lynnie Godfrey’s directing philosophy is rooted in collaboration, discovery, and authenticity. Whether guiding actors in intimate staged readings, full-scale productions, or digital workshops, Lynnie approaches each project with a commitment to uncovering the emotional truth of the story.   • GREENWOOD: An American Dream Destroyed
    Staged readings at SteelStacks, Bethlehem, PA, and Off-Broadway, NYC. Directed via live readings and digital workshops with playwright Celeste Bedford Walker. Explores the 1921 racial destruction of Greenwood, Oklahoma.
  • Unentitled
    Reading at ArtsQuest Center, Bethlehem, PA. Directed the original work of playwright Charles White, highlighting the complexities of upper-middle-class African-American life.
  • Lois’s Wedding
    Staged reading of Bathsheba Monk’s play at ArtsQuest, Bethlehem, PA.
  • Texas State University Black and Latino Playwrights Celebration
    Virtual direction of Greenwood workshop via Zoom, August–September 2020.

Cabaret / Concerts

  • Ladies of Song
    Tribute to Ethel Waters, Ella Fitzgerald, and Sarah Vaughn. Directed and performed a two-act, 110-minute production, celebrated for storytelling, vocal interpretation, and personal homage.
  • New Cabaret at SteelStacks
    Directed and performed cabaret-style concert with Dave Roper on piano. Featured American Songbook classics and jazz standards. Received acclaim for vocal range, interpretive storytelling, and audience engagement.
